About Ibiza and its gay life

When dropouts and hippies began to unearth Ibiza for themselves in the s, no one would have guessed that the Balearic island would soon turn into one of Europe's most popular summer travel destinations. Today, more than two million tourists arrive to the island every year and the population has more than quadrupled since the s: , people now live on the island, about a third of them in t

Ibiza Pride attracts visitors from all over the nature to enjoy its meaning of fun and events draw not only people from the LGBTQIA group but also others who just want to savor the atmosphere and honor diversity.

Considered one of the most important dates on the European LGBTQIA calendar, Ibiza Pride usually takes place in mid-June - find the confirmed dates and more information about the programme on our events page.

There are events for a full week, you will find a diverse programme with outdoor parties, drag shows, musical performances and fun in the streets. Events grab place in different locations in San Antonio and in Ibiza Town's port area, for example, on the large stage on the harbour promenade, and, of course, in Ibiza Town's “gay street”, Calle de la Virgen.

At overnight there are special club nights, mostly in smaller venues like the gay club Lola's in Ibiza Town.

The pride parade, called the Great March, takes place on the last evening in Ibiza Town, with the LGTBIQ+ Manifesto read out each year by a known LGBTQIA activist.

Despite some lean years during the s, Amnesia was the most consistently successful of all the clubs in Ibiza, and was also home to the island's best gay party 'La Troya Asiesian', which in , moved to Vacuum with the name Residence OF LA TROYA. Midway between Ibiza Town and San Antonio and across the road from Privilege, Amnesia looks like a former garden centre (it does look like a B&Q from the outside) turned super club The club has, however, progressed a long way from it's domestic roots, the most recent changes being to the Terrace, including the spectacular extension of the gallery.

There are two boogie areas in Amnesia: the Main Room, which plays host to the biggest draw DJs, usually at the headlining club (when two are sharing the venue), and always the foam party; and the smaller back room, or "Terrace", home to some very large trees Even though it is bigger than Brighton Pavilion (to which it bears mor
