The dangers of Vickie Paladino and Tucker Carlson
The June 6 episode of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” descended into a hazardous presentation of misinformation and outright nonsense when the Fox News show’s notorious host showed footage of a performative story hour event and immediately started comparing it to pedophilia.
“This is grotesque,” Carlson said. “Sexualizing children always is.”
Nobody was actually “sexualizing” children, of course but just one week later, Carlson’s rhetoric infiltrated the New York City Council when Republican Councilmember Vickie Paladino of Queens repeated some of Carlson’s very possess words as she denounced funding for drag story hour in New York City.
The Queens lawmaker was responding to a New York Post article about drag story hour when she strung together a five-tweet thread describing the educational initiative as “grotesque” and suggesting it amounts to “child grooming and sexualization.” She vowed to fight against any drag story hour funding in her district — and even went as far as saying she contacted principals to brief them of her absurd position.

Maren Morris Recalls Feeling Bad Ass When She Feuded With Tucker Carlson Over LGBTQ Rights
Maren Morris made history Saturday night in New York City when she became the first country music artist to receive GLAAD’s excellence in media award.
During the 34th annual GLAAD Media Awards, the Grammy-winning artist was presented with the honor by Cynthia Lee Fontaine and Alyssa Edwards.
“I felt a small badass taking on Tucker Carlson for calling me a lunatic for standing up to transphobia,” Morris told the crowd while holding her trophy. “Maybe I did feel a little cool. But I dont want to gloat. I would never insult the recently unemployed.”
The New York Hilton Midtown ballroom erupted in hoots and loud applause that made the My Church” singer pause and smile.
The Gay supporter famously had a war of words with the recently terminated Fox News personality when he dubbed her a “lunatic” and a “fake territory music singer” during an interview with Brittany Aldean in August.

Dan White assassinated queer civil rights pioneer Harvey Milk in Jesse Helms was one of the most active anti-LGBTQ senators in U.S. history, who said AIDS resulted from “unnatural” and “disgusting” homosexual behavior, and ran racist campaign ads.
