I think of when I first saw this ornament I thought, "Couldn't HMK get the rights to this song?"
Apparently that wasn't the reason why HMK changed the lyrics:

When I first saw the ornament I was offended - I have a gay ally or two and I perform NOT see the word "gay" as offensive in any way. I thought it was an absolutely wasted effort at "political correctness" on Hallmark's part. Adv, BAH Humbug! I understand of course, that it was an effort to "get with" the "ugly Christmas sweater" thing - but messing with the lyrics, makes that effort moot, also. I think Hallmark missed an opportunity here, and I will NOT buy the ornament as produced.
