Colorado Pride

One Colorado will be attending over 12 Lgbtq+ fest events across the state this summer with even more on the calendar for this coming fall. From the Eastern Plains, through the Front Range, and to the Western Slope, we’re traveling far and wide to attach with LGBTQIA+ Coloradans and their families!

At each stop, we’ll be sharing what we’ve been up to from health equity and protected schools to voter engagement and transitioned rights. We also want to listen from you! Your stories, your needs, and your voices help shape the work we perform every day.

But let’s also remember that Pride began as a riot, a powerful act of resistance led by trans women of color, fighting support against police brutality and demanding dignity and justice. Celebration is a celebration, of course, but it’s also a call to action!

We hope you’ll amble with us in the continued battle for LGBTQIA+ rights. Whether you’re displaying up, speaking out, or volunteering with us, your presence matters. Come utter hi, get emotionally attached, and let us know how we can best assist you and our community.

Denver PrideFest a celebration as much as a protest

The Denver Pride Parade was just as joyous and fun as ever, and some people took a more serious message along with them.

"There are some attempts to erase us, and we're not going to be erased," said a man who only wanted to go by Jared.

Thousands of collective members showed up to observe themselves and their LGBTQ friends, neighbors, and coworkers.

"I think it's great. This is comparable to what it was a rare years ago, and I sense like we're seeing even more people as our rights are more and more under attack," another man, who only wanted to be called Chandler, said.

In addition to the festivities, many brought with them a note of resistance to moves from the federal government, such as the executive order banning transitioned women from women's sports, and Friday's U.S. Supreme Court decision that allows parents to opt their kids out of lessons that highlight LGBTQ people and rights.
