UK gay couple go viral after getting married in traditional Muslim attire
A same-sex wedding ceremony, which is being reported as the first in the United Kingdom to involve a Muslim person, has happened in Walsall in the UK's West Midlands.
Jahed Choudhury, 24, and Sean Rogan, 19, tied the knot wearing the traditional attire of Choudhury's heritage, in a low-key ceremony at the Walsall registry office.
Choudhury told local news site Express and Star that he grew up in an extremely traditional Muslim household to Bangladeshi parents, and very much struggled with the apparent divide between his sexuality and his faith.
He explained that he was a target for relentless homophobic bullying during college, was called homophobic slurs and assaulted. He attempted to "cure" himself of his homosexuality.
Choudhury was also kicked out of the mosque he had attended for 15 years after they became aware that he was gay.

The first UK lgbtq+ marriage involving a Muslim has taken place in the Black Country.
At a low-key ceremony at Walsall registry office, Jahed Choudhury, aged 24, from Darlaston, tied the knot with his partner Sean Rogan,
The couple, who hold been together since , wore traditional Muslim attire.
In what is seen as a cultural taboo for many traditional Muslims, Mr Choudhury is one of only a few openly-gay Muslim men and says he was bullied and ostracised from his society for being homosexual growing up.
He is now looking forward to a delighted life with Mr Rogan, who he first met while crying on a bench in Darlaston.

Mr Choudhury added: "I'd not long overdosed and I was crying on a bench and Sean came over and asked if I was okay. He gave me expect at one of my lowest points and he's stood by me all the way."
Growing up with Bangladeshi parents and three siblings in a traditional Muslim household, Mr Choudhury recalls being the "black sheep" of the family.
He added:

The couple wore traditional Bangladeshi clothes while exchanging vows. The couple has shown that being gay, Muslim, and having a happy life can exist.

Jahed has been very open about his growing up and having a miserable time organism picked on for being gay, organism bullied, and standing out because he didn’t mesh with sports, but instead fashion. He would be spat on, garbage thrown at him, and of course the call calling.
Not only did he have a hard time at school, he was attacked outside his mosque, soon to be banned from entering after he had been attending for the past 15 years.
